Unit 4 Earth Science 1

Click the above image to watch an online powerpoint.

(The screen that comes up will have click to start so click on that once it is ready)

This powerpoint was created using thumbstacks.com

The powerpoint explains some of the major properties of the water cycle but a few things are missing. I would like you to create your own powerpoint on thumbstacks.com. You will do it on the same subject of the water cycle but you will need to use the following terms:

Methods of Energy Transfer
1.
Convection Current
2.
Radiation
3.
Conduction

I will provide links to the images I used or you can create your own images using regular powerpoint. An instructional video is located here:

The video above was recorded using a screen capture program. The video is a short introduction to PowerPoint and making drawings. The video shows how to save the image as a jpeg and then how to import that image into Thumbstacks.com.

In this web 2.0 exercise you are going to create an online powerpoint. You will need to create a free account with Thumbstacks.com. The video you are watching was uploaded into Teachertube a link directly to it is here. I have also uploaded a version onto my web page which can be accessed by this link.

In my blog I have left a question for you to answer on convection currents and how the density of water vapor changes as a convection cell works.

Links to my images on the powerpoint:

Stage 1 Evaporation

Stage 2 Condensation

Stage 3 Precipitation

So have you done the following:
1.
Watched the powerpoint on the water cycle.
2.
Created an account with Thumbstacks.com .
3.
Did research on the methods of energy transfer.
4.
Edit or create your own images then include them into your own online powerpoint. Remember to include methods of energy transfer.
5.
Be sure to answer the above poll after working with thumbstacks.com.
6.
Go to my blog and leave a response on how a convection current works and the density of water vapor.
7.
So if you have questions email me at the following link: Questions about this page.
If you have completed everything I have created a scattergory game at the following link to help you with the terms in this subject. I have also added a few new terms. There is also a link to a page by the U.S. Department of the Interior on the water cycle. Water Cycle Scattergory Game Link.
