Howdy
My name is Jason Palmer and I will be your science teacher. I am married and currently have three daughters. I have many interests and am licensed to teach physics, chemistry, general science, and advanced math. In this day and age it's good to be a life long learner. As part of Heppner High School I am always learning new things and gaining knowledge about technology and the subjects that I teach. I enjoy teaching this class and I hope that you will also find my courses interesting and informative. As technology increases so does our understanding of our planet Earth and its place in the universe. One of the main goals of my courses are to show you fields of study that can lead to careers in science. In today's global economy, knowledge of science can have a major influence your career choices. If you have any questions about career options or what you could do as a career in science don't hesitate to contact me through email. You can email me at the following link: PalmerJ

A picture of my daughters and I, my wife and I are Christians we live in Heppner, Oregon. I teach a class in the same room that I took classes when I was in high school. I graduated from the University of Colorado, at Boulder. In college I majored in aerospace engineering. So you can say that you are taking your science class from a rocket scientist.

One of my interests is World War II aircraft. One of my favorites is the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt wasn't the most glamorous aircraft but was the heaviest single engine aircraft for the United States, the most produced aircraft in numbers, and was the able to withstand the most damage and still bring its pilots home to fight again. The last characteristic is the reason it is one of my favorites it may have had some disadvantages when compared to other aircraft but it was able to withstand a lot of beating but was always able to return its pilot home so that he could fight again. That tenacious attitude can be beneficial in an online class, because you will need to battle the internet and technology sometimes but if you are tenacious and continue to work on it you eventually will be victorious. |
