Fall Registration
Registration for Fall 2005 is available beginning August 1, 2005, at www.oregonlearningsource.org. Here is a list of course offerings. Course offerings include subjects such as core courses in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts as well as electives in Personal Finance, Art History, Career Options and Spanish 1 and 2. Select IVC (Interactive Video Conference) courses will be available during the 2005-2006 school year, with more under development. New for 2005 are Contemporary Issues, AP Calculus AB, and a special study offering on the Holocaust. Beginning Winter 2006, there will be a "Careers II" course which will meet the new career-related learning requirements necessary to obtain Oregon high school diplomas in Spring 2007. A unique new offering will be Speech 125, a college-credit course through SOU, delivered in blended format that will include face-to-face meetings, IVC sessions and online materials. Middle school courses are available in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Middle school students may enroll in either semester courses, or in individual units of study for remediation, personal interest, or to accommodate travel or the need to be away from school for an extended period of time. Procedures Online courses are not for everyone. To help ensure student success please have ALL prospective online students take the following survey: "Is Online Learning Right for Me?" (please note this is NOT currently on the Oregon Online website). Also, before enrolling students, please ask them to complete this activity sheet. Computer setup is especially crucial! The registration procedures for 2005-2006 are almost identical to those used in 04-05. For details, please go to the registration procedures web page or download the registration procedures in Word format. Fee Schedule The cost for a semester course is $250, with consortium members receiving various discounts. Please call or email Maureen Criger for more information. Southern Oregon ESD is sponsoring students in its 3-county region, bringing the cost down to $100 per semester course for the 2005-2006 academic year. Important Dates
