Software and HardwareIn order to make your online experience a positive one, your computer must meet certain minimum requirements: Recommended configuration for best performance: Windows: NOTE: Internet Explorer 9 is not yet compatible with online learning materials
*Generally, we recommend at least two browsers, in case multimedia content is challenged by one or the other. In addition have a computer that meets minimum requirements, students must have access to a word processor that can read and save Microsoft Word documents (such as Microsoft Word/Office, Open Office, or Google Docs) and a drawing program that can read and save BMP, GIF, or JPG files (such as GIMP, Paint.net, Sumopaint, com or pixlr.com). Some courses require students to print pages, complete activities, and fax or scan them to back to the teacher. If students do not have a printer, scanner, and fax machine available at home, they should check with their school for assistance. Linux systems are not supported, but recent versions may work. Oregon Online does not provide technical assistance for these platforms. If you have questions about whether or not your computer qualifies, please call at 1.800.858.6730 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
