Online Teachers Needed

Distance learning is a growing field. Oregon Online (o2) is experiencing significant growth in its student population and looking to expand its course catalog. We are looking for teachers and course writers for both high school and middle school classes.

Teaching online or via videoconferencing requires a unique set of skills. Besides possessing an Oregon Teaching Credential and highly-qualified status in their content area, Oregon Online teachers must be familiar with pedagogy and best practices for distance learning, have extensive experience communicating effectively using a variety of electronic tools, demonstrate experience in utilizing online resources in the classroom, and be able to create, edit, and organize learning materials effectively using our course management system.

We are currently looking for qualified teachers for:

• Foreign Languages

Southern Oregon ESD and Oregon Online provide two professional development courses to provide educators with the skills and knowledge to teach via distance learning, both online and IVC (videoconferencing).

The first course, Teaching from a Distance, provides teachers with both the theoretical background and hands-on experience in using tools and resources for distance learning. The second course, Course Writing for Distance Learning, gives educators an opportunity to experience the development a course for online, IVC, or blended delivery.

Our courses provide skills that not only prepare educators to teach via distance learning, but also help strengthen their ability to integrate technology into face-to-face courses as well.

In addition, each course provides 40 PDUs or two Southern Oregon University continuing education credits (tuition extra).
