Sample Course

The link below provides you access to Virginia Petitt's Economics course. All the features available to regularly-enrolled students are here, so go ahead and snoop around. Before clicking, however, be sure to have the Username and Password handy, because you'll need them when you get to the Blackboard "login" screen.

Instructions

To see what an Oregon Online course looks like, visit o2blackboard.wesd.org. Click on "Login," enter the following information, and click "Login."

Username: o2student
Password: guest

In a moment, the course "Welcome" screen is displayed, and in the "My Courses" rectangle (upper-right) is the sample course: "Oregon Online Tour." Click that.

Navigating Around

The Announcements page greets all students when they first visit an online course. Buttons on the left take you to various components of the course. Here's a breakdown of what you'll find there:

  • Course Information: The course syllabus and FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
  • Teachers: Information about the instructor with whom you'll be communicating several times a week.
  • Communications: One important component of online learning is the Discussion Forum.
  • Course Materials: This is like the course Table of Contents.
  • Course Documents: This is where Ms. Petitt sends people who ask the same questions several times.
  • Tools: All kinds of web-based resources are included in your enrollment fees.
  • Mailbox: for those without email, it's provided here.

Logging Out

When you're finished with your tour, click the tiny "Logout" button at the top of all course screens. If you have questions about navigating throughout this (or any Oregon Online) course, send an email with your concerns.
